PIXELATED KITCHEN

Confession: this mural is located my own home. There is a bright, high-traffic nook off of our kitchen that serves as a play space for the kids and access to the backyard. My goal was to make the space more interesting without darkening it with dark wall paint or window coverings; there is only one wall large enough to hang a painting, and that just wasn’t having the impact I wanted. I designed a pixelated, windswept configuration of hand-painted squares. The effect is light but impactful, connecting the grey-brown kitchen cabinets with the black and earth-tones of the living room.
