I have been holding “Magnolia” in my imagination for a long time, and I’m thrilled to see it come to life. This piece is characterized by a perfectly-imperfect background made up of collage and painted squares in neutral tones. Over top, I’ve painted a pair of oversized, abstract magnolia blooms. “Magnolia” is peaceful and gentle, and its layers invite you in for a closer look.

24x24 acrylic, paper/fabric collage, pastels, and pencil on gallery-wrapped canvas, sealed with satin varnish.
