Free Skate

Read my blog post for more about this series.

Note: This piece was selected for the “Art at the Avenue” Exhibition, a juried exhibition hosted by the South Cobb Arts Alliance in Marietta, GA on July 15 - August 5, 2023.

“Free Skate” is composed of multiple layered patterns and is an evolution of my polka-dot work. A background of vintage/reused materials and visible brushstrokes give this piece beautiful texture and visual interest up close. Experimental color combinations are striking in an earthy sort of way.

30x30” acrylic, pencil, and collage (fabric and paper) on canvas, sealed with satin varnish. Framed in a natural maple frame for final dimensions of 31x31x1.5.” Hanging hardware is installed on the back.
